Pacific Design Group was contracted for the conceptual master plan of the surrounding area of Shanghai South Transit Station. The key to successful transit-oriented developments is establishing the right mix of uses that will be frequented by the commuters. This mixed-use development combines retail, residential, recreation, leisure, hotels and offices. The project promotes pedestrian activity by creating a central retail area that supports business growth and evening socializing. Public parks and a wide streetscape with specialty lighting and high quality street furnishings encourage pedestrian activity.
